The information displayed on this site is a combination of images and websites that are all available to the public. If you have any questions or comments, please email me. The following list of rocks, minerals, and fossils can be found in New Mexico (This list is not conclusive): Actinolite, Agardite, Agate, Alabaster, Amazonite, Amethyst, Apatite, Asbestos, Atacamite, Azurite, Barite, Beryl, Bytownite, Calcite, Caliche, Carnelian, Chalcedony, Chert, Copper Ores, Fire Agate, Flint, Fluorite, Fossils, Galena, Garnet, Geodes, Hematite, Iron Ore, Jasper, Labradorite, Malachite, Manganese, Mica, Moonstone, Nodules, Obsidian, Onyx, Opal, Pecos Diamonds, Peridot, Perlite, Petrified Wood, Psilomelane, Pyrite, Quartz, Rhyolite, Staurolite, Topaz, Tourmaline, and Turquoise. Please remember that some locations have been worked over and specimens are hard to find. However, this does not mean that they are not there. In some cases it will take hard work and lots of time but will pay off with some of the most rewarding treasures found in the state!
